1st Anniversary Art Giveaway! - closing date 12th May 2022

So, looking back I realised that this site launched fully some time in April 2021 and to mark this as well as thank everyone who's taken the time to post, or is going to take the time to post in future, and to pay back the Exalted community at large, it's time for another contest.

Several of us on the staff and our game group are putting together a little prize pool to commission art of a character of the winner's choice. Right now we're committing to having two winners that will be selected randomly from all the entries rather than it being judged, in order to keep a prize like this fair.

We've already arranged for a bust by an artist called RodC (on insta) who has completed several pieces for us as a group in the past to be one of the prizes. We're also exploring using Fluffy_Dus (on twitter - some NSFW) who has also worked with us in the past as the 2nd. Both are great to work with and are happy to do character design work so even if you don't have previous art of a character to act as a reference you can still enter. Let us get them art for you!

Any regular T&Cs the artists have will apply and we'll want to post the winning entries here on the forum, otherwise there's no strings attatched. The art will be yours to share or do what you want with and we're claiming no rights or ownership on it or the characters.

So, how do you enter. Simple - just go and post on the SHARE YOUR CHARACTERS thread and tell us about the character you'd be getting art of.

Anyone who fills out all the questions there about their character will get an entry in the raffle once the deadline is up and we'll pick 2 winners from that. Obviously we encourage you to take the chance to show off and share your PC in as much detail as you'd like and comment on other people's while you're over there. And feel free to post as many PCs as you like but to keep it fair it's going to be one raffle slot per account.

It's as easy as that. Tell us about your character, get a chance of winning art of them. Athough if you want to stick around and post on other threads while you're at it you'll be doing the site a solid and increasing the chances of us repeating stuff like this in future.

FInal couple of disclaimers, site staff and our playgroup obviously aren't eligible to win this even if we share PCs. And while there's no minimum wordcount to enter we do want posts on the character thread to engage with the spirit of things. One word answers stand a chance of being discounted for entry

There was a bit of a question over whether it was harsh to exclude you or not and in the end we leant towards including everyone who'd made a legit attempt to engage with the thread. It felt pretty mean spirited to get too pedantic and make you the only one we excluded.

I am still "making him", so I don't actually know some of those answers myself yet. I have a general thought of where he's going, but I'm in the thick of choosing charms right now, and those are what solidify characters in my head.

I came to post this and saw you'd already done it for me!

This is the 2nd and final piece we arranged for our site giveaway contest and we're glad that taking the time to get things right meant Bifford's got a piece of character art they're happy with. Unfortunately neither artist we thought we had lined up were able to do pieces for our winners so it's been a challenge making sure we had something just as nice for them instead.
