Charms Evocations and Sorcery
Closing Date - 7th June 2021
Top Prize - $20 Amazon or Drivethru RPG credit
We want to try and encourage people to post as much of their homebrew material as possible to the board, so for the site launch we're running a contest for short form mechanics. Any charms, artifacts, martial arts, evocations, sorceries or other powers and effects that a character might use are all welcome here. It doesn't matter what splat or edition they're for. We're hoping you'll want other people to see your stuff anyway, so the ability to enter it for consideration here loses you nothing.Closing Date - 7th June 2021
Top Prize - $20 Amazon or Drivethru RPG credit
We're going to be judging entries based on how cool we think they are, how original or thematic the ideas are and how well we think the mechanics try and execute on that. While balance is important, we're more interested in recognising the intent behind the work than quibbling over whether your mote cost is 1 or 2 out. Likewise length is nice and will win you points but isn't the most important thing we're looking for. A single spell that blows the judges minds or an amazing artifact with a couple of great evocations are going to be favoured over an entire trees worth of charms that don't fire our interest as much.
The only rule is that it has to be work you've made or own yourself. You're free to enter as many times as you like with as much art as you want, and non-winning entries are always eligible for future contests.
To enter simply make sure your mechanics are posted on a thread in it's appropriate forum, then reply to this thread with a link to your piece. This way you don't have to double post here and even when the contest is done your work will still be there for people to see and comment on in the right place. You can link to specific posts by clicking the timestamp in the post body.
Entries close at the end of 7th June GMT and once we have them the mods and admins will take a look and cut things down to a 5 entry shortlist. From this we're hoping to have one or two friendly OPP freelancers decide an overall winner, although if not it will be judged by the site staff. All 5 shortlisted finalists however will get to have a "Contest Winner" rank below their avatar for the next few months.
Entering the contest gives us no rights to your work, it's still yours to do what you want with. We just ask that if you win you try and make sure it stays accessible to people in one form or another in future.
Good luck
