"They've bewitched people and brought chaos to the land, Demonic Swords, Spectral Swords, Holy Swords, Unholy Swords. The 36 Pieces I gathered while traveling Xi You, I've got everything from devil banishers to god killers! Which edge do you want a taste of!?"
With these words, Shang Bu Huan finished 12 episodes of speculation of his identity and powers with a resounding statement. And with this statement you can only ask 'what other swords are hiding in the Index?'
@Flare has made his own attempt to create his mystical Sorcerous Sword Index here and now he wants to see if we can't manage to fill it with creations of our fledgling forum.
Give him swords! Wonderful swords, terrible swords, fantastical swords, awesome swords! Show him what wonders you think Shang Bu Huan is hiding in his Index, be they holy swords to slay demons or corrupted weapons made for the killing of men.
This is a pair of contests, one for Exalted 3e and one for Exalted Essence both of which are looking for you write ups and evocations for sorcerous swords. It doesn't matter what shape or size they are, what artifact rating or material, if you can call it a sword, Flare wants to see it.
The only rules are that if you're submitting an Ex3 sword it has at least 4 completed evocations, and if it's for Essence it has 1 attunement effect and 1 evocation. Please make sure it's clear which you're submitting for. And obviously only submit works you've made or have permission/ownership for.
To enter, simply make a post on his Sorcerous Sword Index thread. This can either be the artifact in full, or if you'd rather you can give your sword it's own thread and then post a link to the main thread.
After the closing date of 24th September Flare will be going through and picking the best which he'll then try and compile into a handy collection for people to use and see. He'll also be picking a winner for both Ex3 and ExEss, each with their own prize.
Entering the contest gives us no rights to your work, it's still yours to do what you want with. We just ask that if you win you try and make sure it stays accessible to people in one form or another in future.

Stormcutter - A Blue Jade Reaper Daiklave themed around creating time-delayed slashes of air, and also being so sharp you can cut anything: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=506
Bitter Fury(Soulsteel Reaper Daiklaive - ●●●) Attunement: 5m Type: Medium (+3 Acc, +10 Dmg, +1 Def, Ovw 4) Tags: Lethal, Melee, Balanced Hearthstone Slot(s): 1 Era: Time of Tumult
Setting sail from Skullstone, the Abyssal craftsman known simply as the Dark Maker prowled the western oceans, hunting for ruins and wreckage from the lost First Age. During once such endeavor the death knight’s fleet discovered a lost Peleps vessel, long separated from their armada by the wrath of a Storm Mother. Starved and thirsty, the crew fell prey to the Dark Maker with relative ease, increasing the Abyssal’s crew with each man that fell. The crew fell easily, that is, save for one. A valiant Fire Aspect fought tooth and nail at first to drive off the invaders, and once that cause was clearly lost, he battled to deny the brigands the spoils by sinking the very ship he battled on. His efforts, sadly, were for naught. The crew slain, the ship taken, the brave Prince of Creation was taken prisoner.
The Dark Maker returned to his hidden workshop, a manse corrupted by the dark essence of the shadowland that overtook it, with his spoils in tow. There he questioned the Fire Aspect with tortures both mundane and mystical for the knowledge of the Peleps navy’s movements. No matter the horrors inflicted, however, the man would not break. Frustrated but refusing to walk away without another prize, the Death Knight murdered the loyal Peleps soldier, smelting his soul and the souls of his crew with underworld iron in the cold flames of his balefire crucible. Working day and night without sleep or sustenance, ensuring that no light other than the heatless sun of the underworld or the green balefire of the forge touched the iron, the Dark Maker fashioned an elegant reaper daiklaive from the resulting soulsteel. The rage of Hesiesh is not so easily quenched, however, and the divine spark of the dragons had an unexpected effect on the blade. Re-entering creation, basking in the warmth of the Unconquered Sun’s light, the embers of the souls forged into the steel began to reignite, hungering for vengeance against the dark beings that trapped them.
Bitter Fury is an elegant, almost impossibly thin soulsteel reaper daiklaive. As further insult to the souls trapped within, its habaki and kashira are crafted from Malfean brass and the iron tsuba is carved in the shape of dragons bound in barbed chains. The same-kawa is fashioned from the skin of strange creatures fished from the depths of the underworld’s seas, the tsuka-ito is woven from the hair of dead sailors, and the mekugi that holds the whole blade together is carved from the Dragonblood’s finger bone. The pained faces indicative of soulsteel aren't visible in the hiraji, the metal instead appearing as a matte black void. With close inspection the faces are visible in the hamon, warped into silent screams of rage rather than pain, and they glow faintly as if the metal hasn’t fully cooled when the blade is drawn in Creation.
Evocations of Bitter Fury Fire Aspect Dragonblooded are always resonant with this artifact as the Exalted essence trapped within knows its own. When attuning themselves to Bitter Fury, the Exalt can accept the Major intimacy “Anathema (Hatred)” to awaken Hate’s Razor Edge at no cost. This intimacy cannot be reduced or increased in any way while the artifact is attuned, and while the Exalt is aware that the intimacy is not entirely their own, it functions for all intents and purposes as if it were. The Exalt can either purchase or re-purchase the evocation at standard cost to overcome the furious souls’ will, either waiving or removing the intimacy.
Hate’s Razor Edge Cost: 3m; Mins: Essence 1 Type: Supplemental Keywords: Decisive-only, Resonant Duration: Instant Prerequisites: None Channeling the rage of hte souls trapped within, Bitter Fury’s edge cuts through armor as though it were ice. She ignores (Strength/2, rounded up) points of Hardness, plus an additional point for every 10 on her attack roll. Resonant: An Exalt resonant with Bitter Fury doubles the Hardness ignored and inflicts aggravated damage against Creatures of Darkness or beings targeted by the weapon’s ingrained intimacy.
Vengeance’s Radiance Cost: 3m; Mins: Essence 1 Type: Simple Keywords: Resonant Duration: One scene Prerequisites: None Whipping the trapped souls into a frenzy, the faces running the edge of the blade glow like coals stoked to roar a forge back to life. The weapon gains +1 Overwhelming and an enemy damaged by a decisive attack takes a -1 wound penalty until the end of his next turn as their nerves scream at the impossible heat. Resonant: For an additional 2m and 1w, Bitter Fury inflicts aggravated damage against Creatures of Darkness or beings targeted by the weapon’s ingrained intimacy for the duration of this evocation.
Fury Knows No Bounds Cost: 4m; Mins: Essence 2 Type: Simple Keywords: Dual, Resonant Duration: Instant Prerequisites: Hate’s Razor Edge, Vengeance’s Radiance Once a warrior is this familiar with the blade and those that reside within, they can strike out at a distance. The Exalt makes a withering or decisive attack with (Dexterity + [Archery, Thrown, Melee, or an appropriate Martial Art]) against an enemy within short range. This attack deals lethal damage. Withering attacks have a damage of 10 + Essence, not adding strength. Decisive attacks double 10s on damage. Resonant: This attack counts as a Flame weapon for any charms that make use of them.
So, a question for this contest: How esoteric can the artifact get? I have in mind what can best be summarized as 'an artifact which creates a specific sword', but it's not quite a sword itself in the traditional sense. Would that be admissible?

Dawn's Wound, a quantity of a strange substance said to be the blood of the dawn itself, which can transform mundane blades into terrible weapons of supernatural power - until that power consumes the blades, at least.
